As you may know from our roadmap the remaining Pre-alpha features are The ability to grab enemies and Player accounts. We were going to release them in separate updates, but due to the canceling and un-canceling of the Grab, we've decided to release them both in one extra large Alpha transition extravaganza!

The first version of the account system is nearly done. With the Alpha update, we will launch a new MythoLogic Interactive website, better and prettier than the current one. This is where you'll sign up and get your account. The SFD launcher has been redone with a snazzy new design and a login control. Initially, creating an account will be completely optional, though we'd appreciate your help in testing the system. "Offline" players will have their names in gray instead of white on the scoreboard, and there will be an option when hosting a game to only allow logged-in players to join.

Implementing Grabbing and finishing up the account features will take a few weeks, so don't expect Alpha v 1.0 before the end of October.

Oh. The Alpha is really close, that is pretty unexpected for me... I was thinking that you devs would publish the ability to grab enemies as a update, then after some bug fix update and maybe some weapons as shock baton and grappling hook, finally, the new Player Accounts, coming in Alpha Version.

I don't know, I actually have bad experiences in working in more than two things in the same time with a team, but you guys are Gurt and Hjarpe, I can't wait the Alpha Version, I'm so excited.

If someone register a name that's already registered here on this forum they will also be prompted to login using their forum account to verify that name.

Your character/profile name in-game will work just like now and will be separate from the account name.

You devs don't have any plan to merge everything into a unique big site?

I don't know anything about it (copyright and these 3 sites difference), I was thinking it would be cool a unique account for posting your maps in sfdmaps, for forum and for the game, but this forum was restarted before, and sfdmaps have the UID system, then... Complicated...

True, we have no such plans. It suits us fine that there are good unofficial websites like the wiki and SFDMaps, it saves us a ton of work :)
