Sounds like something simple like the game being blocked by windows firewall or blocked by some third-party anti-virus programs. Check that no program blocks SFD.

because we live in the 80s(jk) some times youre internet isnt good or your location has something to do with it, internet provider too, i did try to play with friends and lets say ping is +150 and we live 3 km apart. mean while i can play with 60 ping with a guy from turkey 3000km
