Bots doing weird things in the new campaign

Post by Powerbombs » Wed Feb 06, 2019 5:14 am

Warning - Possible spoilers to those who have not played the new campaign yet!

As the title states, so far I've seen a couple of glitches involving bots.

The first glitch I've encountered in this new campaign involving bots is the possibility of them spawning under the four tanks you spawn outside of.
This bot will not die as you progress through the campaign until the part you are currently in is completed and the second part must load in. I'm mentioning this because it's just not something every player would mind having on their screen when trying to play through the campaign, aka it's annoying. Here's what it looks like:

The second and possibly not the last glitch involving bots I've encountered is that they apparently do not register as actual players. What I mean by this is that as soon as every player is in the next room that has a door that closes automatically when the game thinks everyone is in the room, the door will close. However, the bots do not have to be inside the room for the door to close, which surprisingly never happened to me when playing Prime Time in Sunny City, the first campaign. What makes this bug worth mentioning is that it can lead to bots being crushed by the door, or having the bot get stuck in the room next to you, which is usually what happens in the boss fight with the doctor. While this is occuring, players can easily deal a good chunk of damage. But there is one strange thing when doing this that occurs... The bot on the other side acts as if you're shooting at him and not the boss, causing him to run and jump around until the shooting has stopped, like when you reload. Here's what I can show with some screenshots:

This concludes the bugs I have found so far with the bots. But before I end this post, I'd like to mention a little fun, non-game breaking bug that players can perform. All you have to do is grab the ledge as the elevator goes down and your character will be seen in the cinematic scene as the enemies stand outside and the elevator falls down further. When the next part loads in, your character will not die, meaning you will have the same weapons and possibly the same health when you spawn in with the others for the next part, which is why it is not very game breaking.

As always, I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the reports, I'll look into these as soon as I have time!

I have no idea how to reproduce the first two, it shouldn't be possible. You're doing something weird! If someone knows how to reliably make this happen, help me out :)

I don't recall us doing weird stuff as I never used any commands while playing the campaign, which was on expert difficulty if that has anything to do with what's going on with the bots (though I doubt it does). However, I have a theory about the first one. I wasn't really paying attention to the first cutscene since I had seen it a few times already, but I know for a fact a player on my server had either left or joined while we were loading the map. I'm thinking the bot may have gotten stuck because the game might've thought a player took the bot's place or the bot had to take the place of the player that had left, but I wouldn't trust my words as I don't know much about the scripting side of things.

About the bots getting stuck behind the doors or being crushed by them, I'll try to recreate it by recording it in action or making a gif.
