Reloading in air slows down speed
When reloading in the air, you speed slows down since you can't reload and sprint at the same time. This is kind of an inconvenience, but not too important.

If you use the button sprint instead of double tapping, letting go of the sprint button also makes you lose speed. This is, however, by design, as far as I can tell.

if the weapon has a quick reload (pistol, carbine, etc.), you can sprint, jump, then begin reloading to retain your speed. you might slow to a stop/walk once you hit the ground but that's as good as it gets
