Port forwarding problem - FAILED

Post by Plague Doctor » Wed Sep 28, 2016 9:10 pm

So, when i start SFD, everything goes as normal. When I try to join a server, i have to wait to my port forwarding to load. I get failed everytime, also, when i host a game, it fails forwarding and no one sees it. I tried to run it as admin. What to do? :(

In this case, it's very likely that your connected router cannot be forwarded through SFD due to the fact that your router has certain settings that do not allow the auto port forward to execute.

Contact whoever provides your router connection for a guide on how to access port forwarding options. After this, you should look at the following topic: http://www.mythologicinteractiveforums. ... ?f=10&t=11

You can also check this tutorial out if you do manage to access your router control panel. It'll help you forward your ports and allow you to host not only SFD but any other multiplayer game that has that option.

If I'm not mistaken, this process also takes a lot of time. Turning off automatic port forwarding should help.

Not true if you have even the slightest clue about what you're doing. Finding your IPv4 address and the default gateway to input into the address bar, logging into the control panel, finding the port forwarding tab and creating a new entry for SFD's port should approximately 2 minutes. The only long part might be having to restart the router for the changes to apply but that's rare as most routers no longer require you to do so.

The process is only prolonged by OP's ability (inability?) to read and adapt my instructions to their own router setup.
