Today(12/27/2017), my Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) antivirus deleted SFD Launcher.exe and one more file from Windows Start Menu. I tried to download SFD archive and use launcher from that archive, but It was deleted by MSE as well.
I shared MSE log that I found to be useful. There are few last log entries. If you will need older logs or link is gone - feel free to ask me in comments.
HNY :)

Either turn the anti-virus off or make an exception for SFD in it by toying with its settings. Download the game again and run it with the anti-virus off or with the exception settings present. It's not that difficult, we have already identified your problem and the rest of the troubleshooting is up to you.

Get either WinRAR or 7Zip so you can open the file. Your antivirus might remove the launcher again so you have to troubleshoot that on your own. Nobody can teleport into your house and turn the antivirus off for you, we already told you what to do so that's up to you.

The links do exactly what they say they do.

The first link downloads the installer which, as the name suggests, installs the game files for you. You tell it where to create the game's folder and put the files, and whether you want shortcuts to the game or not. The rest it does by itself.

The second link is the full game in its "pre-installed" form - all you have to do is place the folder wherever you want it to stay as the game's directory, open it and fire up the game. In order to open the second link you need one of the programs I linked in my previous post already installed on your computer. If you don't have one I'd suggest downloading it - it's very useful not only for SFD but also other games too.

Both links will download the exact same files, except the installer is supposed to somehow make the process easier. It's all checkboxes and confirmation prompts. I prefer to download the files in their "raw" form so that I actually see what I'm installing.

Ensure every required program to run SFD is installed on your computer. Here's a list.
Are you using Windows XP by any chance?

May I know what is the cause of this issue?
Just to be sure that it isn't risky to add SFD to antivirus exception.

Some change in the launcher code attracted the antivirus attention, usually security programs have to check several things before judging a file as a malware, some of these are:
  • Possible harmfull pattern: suspect function calls.
  • Database search: the executable is compared with others in a large database containing all the known viruses discovered, I strongly exclude this hypothesis for this case because most of these databases are manually updated and so they contains true threats, not false positives.
  • Missing software certificate: I think this is what causes the launcher from being deleted; a certificate is the proof that a particular program is free from harmfull code, this certificate must be purchased though.
No One antivirus on Earth are free from false positives, and when the heuristic search was introduced the amount of bad classification of legit applications has skyrocketed, there is no reason to believe that the SFD launcher is really a problem for your computer.

Thank you for explanation ;)
