Couldn't you just use a SpawnObjectTrigger, triggered by an AreaTrigger?

I said trigger quite a lot.

It was added since the "grey dawn of time" someone could say.

Chemical Plant official map uses his non scriptable counterpart to make the crates to spawn. :P
