New moves/tweaks: Add a dash attack and an uppercut/some sort of move that hits above the player so they can stop someone from jumping a lot. Remove the kneel on jump attacks (not kicks). Make standing kicks able to cancel into an attack or something if it hits. Make grabs happen faster and have no dash, but make them deal less damage on power punch (with no knockback) and nerf the throw distance too. Remove grab cooldowns while we're at it, and just make them super short range.
Melee should not be dealing more damage. The game is already an instagib world where many things are likely to get you killed in an instant. I don't want more drawn-out fights since you can always make a quick escape and just drag the game out further, but making melee weaker+faster would make it more fun and engaging.
Most of all I think server-side gameplay should return, as client side leads to odd interactions in-game and can really fuck up the flow of the game.

Wow, I'm surprised that I actually agree with all of that. Most people who want changes to melee are just like "Remove grab, it's cheap. Melee was better when it was rock paper scissors".
