At that time I was baited by this screenshot, and after that, pre-alpha 1.3.0 come out.

when you beat an opponent by simply mashing Attack instead of switching sides and rolling constantly, arbitrarily jumping around and waiting between attacks, creating complex block patterns, introducing kneel-cancel kick combos or leading into instakill grabs

To be honest I think Parabellum is an ode to SFD, you got pretty much 2 hours of Keanu Reeves grabbing and diving on people, shooting at melee range and throwing random objects all over the place. And more katanas than what you'd expect.
