What programs do you use to make the game? Was it very difficult to do?
I ask these questions because this game is so good that it inspires me to make a 2d game too!

I heard box2d is hard to work with, tho. I think unity is better for beginners.

We built out own engine for SFD to handle all the objects in the game.
The physics uses the box2D engine.
Networking uses Lidgren.Network.
Music uses NAudio.
Gamepad controller input uses Nuclex.Input
All in C# and XNA4.0.
