Help us test the next update introducing NAT punchthrough to Superfighters Deluxe.
If you know a friend having a hard time joining your game or vice-versa you could help us test this update before it hits the public. Tell us if it worked for you.
Update log:
- NAT Punchthrough .
Hosting a game won't require port forwarding or UPnP enabled routers as NAT Punchthrough introduction will be used. We still recommend that you set up port forwarding if you host a lot as connecting might take up to 10 seconds (which it won't if port forwarding is set up).
This NAT Punchthrough will make it easier to host and join public games but is not the solution for everyone's unique network situation. It's still required to port forward in certain cases depending on your network, for example if you're behind a restricted symmetric NAT. Remember to allow Superfighters Deluxe through your firewall.
Additional notes:
- Improved performance/speed when loading a map containing thousands of tiles.
- Ban comments now include which date the user was banned and by whom.
- A text "Second player" will be shown under the account name in the scoreboard if a user joins in with two local players (two players sharing the same computer).
To test this update you must opt in to use the betapreview branch in Steam.
This is done by going into properties for Superfighters Deluxe (in Steam).
Select the BETA tab and select the betapreview branch.
If you don't see the branch enter "balistabalista" and you can then select the betapreview branch.

I tested it with a friend of mine, Gui. He can't port forward so he can't host, but I was able to join his server in 1.0.4! We played for a few minutes and everything was working fine. At the first time I joined his server, it took about 8 seconds to connect, but when he rehosted it took only 1 second to join.
I also "unforwarded" my SFD ports in my router settings and kept "port forwarding: manual" in my SFD settings so the game wouldn't attempt to automatically port forward. I then hosted and Shock was able to join.
