if you pick up the m60 or flamethrower and it has less ammo than your current one, you lose ammo. (kinda like when weapon durability was first added and you had two of the same weapon lying about)

pretty sure that's not a glitch, you can't just remove the current ammo you have then fuse it with another guns ammo and you can't hold extra ammo ethier, logical conclusion just take the whole gun and get rid of your current gun.

Hmm looks like weapons that can't hold spare ammo are affected - so m60 and flamethrower. You can't grab more ammo for these weapons so you replace them (that's why it says M60 when grabbing and not "M60 ammo") but you should probably keep the weapon having the most ammo though (similar to how you keep the weapon with most ammo for any other weapon). A little adjustment is in place I guess.
