i have seen that too lately , if a cpu is ledgegrabbing and he has to move left or right , he hangs upside down .

There's only a very basic dummy bot AI called TutorialA which only faces the player and punch him. Designed for the current tutorial only. This AI actually "hacked" the facing direction property. Fixed after Pre-Alpha 1.9.3.
